Two rottweilers attacked a 10-year old as she cycled home. Watched by the girl's grandmother.

Not the first such attack and probably not the last. The trouble with these dogs and certain other breeds (eg. bull terriers) is their massive strength and their instinct never to let go. Combine that with a bad owner and you really have a killing machine. These dogs will be destroyed (probably already have been) - perhaps the owner should be as well.

Sad case peter. I have a 140 lb. French Mastiff mix who is the biggest, gentlest overgrown puppy you'll ever meet. Hooch is one of 7 dogs we have and I agree that the owner has a lot to do with personality of their pets and should be held fully accountable.

Sad story Peter.
Interesting because in my area this week they had to shoot two dogs that were running wild and killing animals. The dogs had a home but the owners pretty much left them to fend for themselves and they are now facing charges. The dogs killed 5 cats, chased a police officer on to the roof of his car and actually chased down a deer and mauled it and it had to be put down. I believe they were pit bull mixes. It's definately the owner and how the animals are treated!
